Electric heat-pump water heaters sold under DENSO, TOCLAS, TOYOTA HOME, Yunoka, Yunoace, Chuki, SHARP, YAZAKI, OM Solar and MITSUI HOME brands (14,921 units—see reference list for affected product numbers) are recalled. Corrosion can damage the compressor in the heat pump unit and may deform the unit during operation; consumers should immediately stop using the product and contact the company by phone for the applicable brand (DENSO/TOYOTA HOME: 0120-800-404; TOCLAS: 0120-089-073; Yunoka: 0120-048-500; Yunoace: 0120-459-126; Chuki: 0800-111-4497; SHARP: 0120-251-340; YAZAKI/OM Solar/MITSUI HOME: 0120-982-292) for inspection and repair.
What's being recalled
Products under the DENSO brand were sold from November 2013 to August 2015, under the TOCLAS brand from March 2014 to April 2016, under the TOYOTA HOME brand from February 2012 to December 2015, under the Yunoka brand from July 2010 to February 2017, under the Yunoace brand from September 2010 to November 2016, under the Chuki brand from October 2010 to July 2012, under the SHARP brand from February 2013 to September 2015, and under the YAZAKI, OM Solar and MITSUI HOME brands from February 2011 to December 2017.

The hazard
Due to corrosion caused by salt or other factors, the compressor in the heat pump unit used in some models may, in rare cases, be damaged, which may result in deformation of the heat pump unit during operation.
