2021–2023 Jeep GRAND CHEROKEE recall: suspension

Certain 2021–2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee and 2022–2023 Grand Cherokee L SUVs are affected; this includes vehicles that received repairs under FCA recall 64A and recall 20D (Transport Canada nos. 2023-336 and 2026-037). The recall was issued because rear coil springs may not have been installed correctly and could detach while driving, creating a road hazard and increasing crash risk. FCA Canada will notify owners in writing and advises taking the vehicle to a dealership to replace the rear coil spring lower isolators.

How to identify it

2021–2023 Jeep GRAND CHEROKEE

The hazard

On certain vehicles, the recall repairs completed by an FCA dealer during recalls 64A and 20D (Transport Canada recall nos. 2023-336 and 2026-037) may not have been done correctly or may not be effective. As a result, another repair is required.

On certain vehicles, the rear coil springs may not have been installed correctly. As a result, the spring(s) could detach from the vehicle while driving.

Note: This recall affects 2022-2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee and 2021-2023 Grand Cherokee L models.

A coil spring that detaches from the vehicle could create a road hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash.

What to do

FCA Canada will notify owners in writing and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the rear coil spring lower isolators.
