2022–2026 Ford F-150 and MUSTANG MACH-E and other models recall: powertrain

Certain 2022–2026 Ford F-150 (Lightning), 2024–2026 Ford Mustang Mach‑E, 2025–2026 Ford Maverick (2.5 L hybrid), and 2026 Ford Escape and Lincoln Corsair may be affected; the issue can show a wrench light and a “shift system fault” message in the instrument cluster. A fault in the integrated park module could prevent the park pawl from engaging when shifted to Park, allowing the vehicle to move when parked and the parking brake isn’t used. Ford will notify owners by mail and advise taking the vehicle to a dealership to update the secondary onboard diagnostic module (SOBDMC) software.

How to identify it

2024–2026 Ford MUSTANG MACH-E

2025–2026 Ford MAVERICK

2026 Ford ESCAPE

2026 Ford CORSAIR

The hazard

On certain vehicles, a problem in the integrated park module could cause the park pawl not to engage when the transmission is shifted to the park (P) position. If this happens, the vehicle could move when it's parked, and the parking brake isn't used.

Note: This problem would cause a wrench light and a shift system fault message to be displayed in the instrument cluster. For the Maverick, Escape and Corsair models, this recall only affects vehicles equipped with a 2.5 L hybrid engine. For the F-150 model, this recall only affects Lightning (electric) models.

A parked vehicle that rolls away could create the risk of an injury or a crash.

What to do

Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the secondary on board diagnostic module (SOBDMC) software.
