Ford and Lincoln 2020–2022 SUVs — specifically the Ford Explorer and Escape and the Lincoln Corsair and Aviator — are affected; check the model and year on your vehicle registration or VIN to recognise if yours is listed. The windshield wiper motor may have been improperly manufactured and could fail, causing the wipers not to work and reducing visibility; Ford will notify owners by mail and ask you to take the vehicle to a dealership for inspection and, if necessary, replacement of the windshield wiper motor.

The hazard
On certain vehicles, the windshield wiper motor may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the motor could fail and cause the windshield wipers not to work.
Windshield wipers that don't work could reduce visibility and increase the risk of a crash.
What to do
Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the windshield wiper motor.
