2025 Forest River VAN recreational vehicle models are affected; they may be identified as Forest River vans from the 2025 model year. They were recalled because the cotter pin that secures the brake booster pushrod to the brake pedal may be missing, allowing the pushrod to detach and cause a loss of brakes, creating a crash risk. Forest River advises owners not to drive the vehicle until repairs are completed; owners will be notified by mail and instructed to contact a Ford dealer to arrange inspection and repair of the brake pedal assembly as needed.
How to identify it

The hazard
On a small number of vehicles, the cotter pin that secures the brake booster pushrod to the brake pedal may not have been installed. As a result, the pushrod could detach from the pedal and cause a loss of brakes.
A loss of brakes can create the risk of a crash.
What to do
To reduce the safety risk, Forest River advises you not to drive your vehicle until the recall repairs are completed. Forest River will notify owners by mail and advise you to contact a Ford dealer to arrange for an inspection. The dealer will repair the brake pedal assembly, as necessary.
