2026 Coachmen CROSS TRAIL recall: brakes

2026 Coachmen CROSS TRAIL motorhomes are affected; they can be identified by the model year and name CROSS TRAIL. They were recalled because the cotter pin that secures the brake booster pushrod to the brake pedal may be missing, which could allow the pushrod to detach and cause a loss of brakes. Forest River advises owners not to drive the motorhome until repairs are completed; owners will be notified by mail and should contact a Ford dealer to arrange inspection and repair of the brake pedal assembly.

How to identify it

The hazard

On a small number of motorhomes, the cotter pin that secures the brake booster pushrod to the brake pedal may not have been installed. As a result, the pushrod could detach from the pedal and cause a loss of brakes.

A loss of brakes can create the risk of a crash.

What to do

To reduce the safety risk, Forest River advises you not to drive your motorhome until the recall repairs are completed. Forest River will notify owners by mail and advise you to contact a Ford dealer to arrange for an inspection. The dealer will repair the brake pedal assembly, as necessary.
