2026 Forest River WILDWOOD and SALEM RV trailers are affected; the issue involves the outdoor griddle safety stop which may not have been installed. Without the stop, the griddle can be stowed with the propane hose attached and the burner(s) left on, creating a fire risk; none of the affected trailers have been delivered to customers and Forest River will have dealers inspect and, if necessary, install a lock to prevent the griddle being stowed while the propane line is attached before delivery.
How to identify it
2026 Forest River WILDWOOD
2026 Forest River SALEM
The hazard
On a small number of RV trailers, the safety stop for the outdoor griddle may not have been installed. As a result, the griddle can be stowed with the propane hose still attached, and the burner(s) turned on.
An outdoor griddle that is stowed away with the burner turned on could create a fire risk.
What to do
None of the affected RV trailers have been delivered to customers. Forest River will instruct dealers to inspect and, if necessary, install a lock to prevent the griddle from being stowed while the propane line is still attached. This will be done before the RV trailers are delivered.
