2025–2026 Harley‑Davidson HERITAGE CLASSIC, SOFTAIL STREET BOB, and SOFTAIL LOW RIDER motorcycles are affected; you can recognise them by brand, model name and 2025–2026 model year. The rear brake line could be damaged by contact with the body control module (BCM), which can cause a brake fluid leak and reduced braking, increasing crash risk. Harley‑Davidson will notify owners by mail and advise taking the motorcycle to a dealership to replace the BCM bracket; the dealer will inspect and, if necessary, replace the rear brake line.

The hazard
On certain motorcycles, the rear brake line could become damaged by contact with the body control module (BCM). Over time, this could lead to a brake fluid leak and cause reduced braking.
Reduced braking can cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash.
What to do
Harley-Davidson will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your motorcycle to a dealership to replace the BCM bracket. The dealer will also inspect and, if necessary, replace the rear brake line.
