2021–2026 Harley-Davidson SPORTSTER S recall: steering

2021–2026 Harley‑Davidson SPORTSTER S motorcycles are affected; they are identified by the model name SPORTSTER S and the 2021–2026 model years. A prior recall repair may not have been done correctly, and the upper triple clamp could fracture, which could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. Harley‑Davidson will notify owners by mail and advise taking the motorcycle to a dealership for inspection and, if necessary, replacement of the upper triple clamp.

How to identify it

The hazard

On certain motorcycles, the recall repairs completed by a Harley-Davidson dealer during recall 0190 (Transport Canada recall no. 2025-486) may not have been done correctly. As a result, a second inspection and/or repair is required.

On certain motorcycles, the upper triple clamp could fracture. If this happens, there could be a loss of control.

A loss of control could increase the risk of a crash.

What to do

Harley-Davidson will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your motorcycle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the upper triple clamp.
