2017–2025 Honda CIVIC and ACCORD recall: wheels

Certain 2017–2025 Honda Civic vehicles and some 2018 Honda Accord vehicles fitted with aluminum wheels installed before delivery or sold as a dealer accessory are affected. The wheels may not have been manufactured properly, allowing wheel nut(s) to loosen and potentially cause a wheel to detach, which can lead to loss of control, a crash, or create a road hazard. Honda will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealership to have the hub(s), wheel(s) and wheel nut(s) inspected and replaced if necessary.

How to identify it

2017–2025 Honda CIVIC

2018 Honda ACCORD

The hazard

This recall is for certain aluminum wheels that were installed before delivery or sold as a dealer accessory.

On certain vehicles, the wheels may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the wheel nut(s) could loosen and cause the wheel(s) to detach.

A wheel separation could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, a wheel that separates could create a road hazard for others.

What to do

Honda will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the hub(s), wheel(s) and wheel nut(s).
