2024–2025 Honda CBR650R recall: electrical

2024–2025 Honda CBR650R motorcycles are affected; owners can identify them by the make and model year. The turn signal switch wiring harness may have been routed improperly and could be damaged by contact with the cowl stay bracket, potentially causing front and rear turn signals, brake lights, horn, speedometer, tail lights and license plate light to stop working, which could increase the risk of a crash. Honda will notify owners by mail and advise taking the motorcycle to a dealership to inspect and re‑route or repair the wiring harness as necessary.

How to identify it

2024–2025 Honda CBR650R

The hazard

On certain motorcycles, the wiring harness for the turn signal switch may not have been routed properly and could become damaged by contact with the cowl stay bracket. If this happens, the front and rear turn signal lights, brake lights, horn, speedometer, tail lights and license plate light may stop working.

Brake lights and/or turn signals that don't work properly may cause others not to recognize when the motorcycle is braking and/or turning. Exterior lights that don't work properly may make the motorcycle less visible to others. These issues could increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, riding a motorcycle without a speedometer could also increase the risk of a crash.

What to do

Honda will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your motorcycle to a dealership to inspect the turn signal switch wiring harness and re-route and/or repair it, as necessary.
