2020–2023 Hyundai SONATA vehicles equipped with a 1.6 L turbocharged engine are affected. The purge control system check valve could wear, allowing the fuel tank to expand, contact hot components and leak fuel, which can create a risk of fire. Hyundai will notify owners by mail and advise taking the vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the check valve, update the ECU software, and inspect and repair the fuel tank and surrounding components.
