The hazard

This recall is for steering dampers installed on certain motorcycles or sold as a replacement part.

On certain motorcycles, the replacement steering damper may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the steering damper can loosen from the mounting adapter and cause a loss of steering control.

Note: This recall affects steering damper part number 16181T01E. This voluntary recall is not being conducted under the requirements of the Motor Vehicle Safety Act.

A loss of steering control could increase the risk of a crash.

What to do

KTM dealers will contact owners and advise you to take your motorcycle to a dealership to apply threadlocker to the steering damper.
