Certain 2027 Kenworth heavy trucks—models W990, 567, 589, 579, T680 and T880—are affected. The power distribution center (PDC) box may be contaminated by oil and could fail, causing loss of drive power and possible failure of the antilock brake system, exterior lighting, windshield wipers and/or defrost, which can increase crash risk. PACCAR will notify owners by mail and advise taking the truck to a dealership for inspection and replacement of the PDC box if necessary.

The hazard
On certain trucks, the power distribution center (PDC) box may be contaminated by oil and could fail. If this happens, there could be a sudden loss of power to the wheels. This problem could also cause the antilock brake system, exterior lighting, windshield wipers and/or defrost system not to work.
A loss of power to the wheels and an antilock braking system that don't work could increase the risk of a crash. Exterior lights, windshield wipers and/or a defrost system that don't work could reduce visibility and also increase the risk of a crash.
What to do
PACCAR will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the PDC box.
