2023–2025 Rivian R1T and R1S light trucks may have second‑row outboard seat belt retractors that were not installed properly, identifiable by the model years and Rivian brand. The seat belts could loosen or detach in a crash, increasing the risk of injury. Rivian asks owners not to transport passengers in the second‑row outboard seats until recall repairs are completed and will notify owners by email to take the vehicle to a Rivian service center for inspection and, if necessary, to secure the seat belt retractor(s).
