Certain 2023–2024 Lexus LX 600, 2023–2024 Toyota Tundra, and 2024 Lexus GX 550 vehicles equipped with a 3.4L twin‑turbo engine are affected. The engine may have manufacturing defects that can produce metal debris and cause the crankshaft bearings to fail, which can make the engine run rough, not start, or stall and could lead to a sudden loss of power; owners will be notified by mail and advised to take their vehicle to a dealership to inspect the No. 1 main bearing and, if necessary, replace the engine.

The hazard
On certain vehicles, the engine may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, metal debris could cause the crankshaft bearings to fail. If this happens, the engine may run rough or may not start. This could also cause the engine to stall while driving.
Note: This recall only affects certain vehicles equipped with a 3.4L twin-turbo engine. This recall replaces Transport Canada recall No. 2025-614.
A sudden loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash.
What to do
The company will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the No. 1 main bearing for abnormal wear and, if necessary, replace the engine.
