2022–2026 Lexus LX 600 and NX 450h and other models recall: visual system

Certain 2022–2026 Lexus (and Toyota) SUVs listed by Transport Canada — including 2022–2025 Lexus LX 600, 2022–2025 NX 450h and many other 2022–2026 models equipped with a panoramic view monitor — are affected. A software problem can cause the rearview camera image to freeze or not display, which could reduce rear visibility and increase crash risk; the company will notify owners and advise taking the vehicle to a dealership to update the parking assist ECU software.

The hazard

Under certain conditions, a software problem could cause the rearview camera image to freeze or not to display. If this happens, the rearview image may not display when the transmission is shifted into reverse. Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display when the vehicle is reversing.

Note: This recall only affects certain vehicles equipped with a panoramic view monitor system.

A rearview camera image that doesn't display correctly could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash.

What to do

The company will notify owners in writing and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the parking assist ECU software.
