2026 Jeep GRAND WAGONEER recall: brakes

The 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer SUV (JEEP brand) sold in Canada is affected; identify it by the model year and name. It was recalled because a software problem could cause the electronic stability control and power brake assist to not work, increasing stopping distance and the risk of a crash; FCA Canada will notify owners and advise taking the vehicle to a dealership to update the brake system control module software.

How to identify it

2026 Jeep GRAND WAGONEER

The hazard

On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the electronic stability control (ESC) system and power brake assist not to work.

A loss of power brake assist could cause a sudden increase in brake pedal force and lead to an increase in stopping distance. This could increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, an electronic stability control system that doesn't work could increase the risk of a crash.

What to do

FCA Canada will notify owners in writing and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the brake system control module software.
