2019–2023 Jeep Cherokee SUVs equipped with a two‑speed power transfer unit (PTU) are affected; look for the model years and PTU equipment listed in official owner notifications. The PTU could become damaged and fail, which may cause loss of power to the wheels and/or allow the vehicle to move when parked if the parking brake is not applied, creating a risk of injury or a crash. FCA Canada will notify owners in writing and corrective actions are under development.
