Certain 2013–2016 Cadillac SUVs and cars — specifically 2015–2016 ATS, CTS, ESCALADE, ESCALADE ESV, 2013–2015 SRX and 2015 XTS — are affected; you can recognize them by model and model year. The driver-front airbag inflator could rupture during deployment, causing the airbag to not properly inflate and propelling metal fragments toward occupants, creating a risk of injury or death. General Motors will notify owners by mail and advise taking the vehicle to a dealership to replace the driver-front airbag module.
