Certain 2021–2024 Jaguar F‑PACE and E‑PACE mild hybrid electric vehicles are affected; the issue may be indicated by a red “Stop Safely Electrical Fault Detected” warning and a 12 V battery that is not charging. The DC/DC converter could fail, possibly causing loss of power to the wheels and/or exterior lights to turn off; Jaguar will notify owners by mail and advise taking the vehicle to a dealership to update the vehicle load balancing software.
How to identify it
2021–2024 Jaguar F-PACE
2021–2024 Jaguar E-PACE
The hazard
On certain vehicles, the DC/DC converter could fail. As a result, the 12 V battery would not charge and a red "Stop Safely Electrical Fault Detected" warning message would be displayed. If this happens, and you continue to drive the vehicle, there could be a loss of power to the wheels and/or the vehicle's lights could turn off.
Note: This recall is an expansion of Transport Canada recall no. 2026-195. Vehicles repaired under that recall don't require this repair. This recall only affects certain mild hybrid electric vehicles (MHEV).
A loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. Exterior lights that don't work may make the vehicle less visible to others and increase the risk of a crash.
What to do
Jaguar will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the vehicle load balancing software.
