What DPI means, and how to get a 300 DPI image
Why DPI changes print size and not quality, how large your photo can print, and how to set 300 DPI without re-compressing it.
Cut an image down to the part you want. Drag the box, snap it to a ratio like 1:1 for profile pictures or 16:9 for video thumbnails, type the exact size in pixels, or switch the shape to a circle for a round PNG with a transparent background.

You can also paste an image with Ctrl+V (⌘V on a Mac).
Your images stay on your device. Nothing is uploaded.
Most online image tools upload your pictures to their servers. This one doesn’t: Crop Image runs entirely in your browser, so family photos, IDs, screenshots and client work never leave your device. It’s free, with no watermark and no limit on how many images you process, and you don’t need an account.
Type the width and height under Size and the box follows; then drag it into place. To make the result a set size such as 1080 × 1080, crop to that ratio here and use Resize Image afterwards.
Choose Circle under Shape and place it over the face or subject. The result is a PNG with everything outside the circle transparent, so it sits cleanly on any background; choose JPG with a background colour if a site doesn't accept PNG. For an oval, choose Free under Ratio and stretch the box.
Most sites display profile pictures at 400 × 400 pixels or smaller, so anything from 400 to 1000 pixels across is plenty. Use Resize Image afterwards if a site asks for an exact size.
The part you keep stays at full resolution. JPGs are saved at quality 92 by default, which you can raise to 100.
Crop works on one image at a time so you can place the box on each. To trim many images to the same shape at once, use Resize Image with “Crop to fill”.
No. Every tool runs in your web browser, so your images are read, changed and saved on your own device and never sent to LabAnvil or anyone else. Once the page has loaded, the tools even work offline.
Free, with no watermark, no daily limit, no account and no cap on file size beyond what your device's memory can handle.
