What DPI means, and how to get a 300 DPI image
Why DPI changes print size and not quality, how large your photo can print, and how to set 300 DPI without re-compressing it.
Turn any image into a JPG, PNG or WebP: WebP and AVIF images saved from the web, screenshots, .jfif files, SVG logos or Photoshop files. Convert a few or a few hundred at once, on your own device.

You can also paste an image with Ctrl+V (⌘V on a Mac).
Your images stay on your device. Nothing is uploaded.
Most online image tools upload your pictures to their servers. This one doesn’t: Image Converter runs entirely in your browser, so family photos, IDs, screenshots and client work never leave your device. It’s free, with no watermark and no limit on how many images you process, and you don’t need an account.
JPG for photos you'll share or upload: every device and website opens it. PNG for screenshots, logos and anything with transparency or sharp text. WebP for websites: it's around 25–35% smaller than JPG at the same quality, and every current browser shows it.
JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC and HEIF, AVIF, GIF (the first frame), BMP, ICO, SVG and Photoshop PSD. TIFF opens in Safari, which is the only browser that can read it.
Sites serve WebP and AVIF because they're much smaller than JPG, so pages load faster, and your browser saves the image in whatever format the site sent. Plenty of apps and upload forms still won't take them, so convert them to JPG or PNG here.
PNG and WebP keep them. JPG can't store transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white, or a colour you pick.
An ordinary JPEG with a different extension, often from saving an image in a browser on Windows. Converting it to JPG copies the picture data byte for byte, so nothing is re-compressed or lost.
The size set in the SVG: its width and height, or its viewBox if those are missing. Choose 2× or 4× for high-resolution screens, or type an exact width. Fonts that aren't installed on your device are replaced, so convert text to outlines first for an exact match.
The converter uses the flattened copy of the image that Photoshop stores inside every PSD. If the file was saved with “Maximize Compatibility” turned off, that copy is blank. Re-save it with the option on.
Converting to PNG is lossless. JPG and WebP are compressed, but at the default quality (92 for JPG, 90 for WebP) the difference can't be seen, and you can raise it to 100.
No. Every tool runs in your web browser, so your images are read, changed and saved on your own device and never sent to LabAnvil or anyone else. Once the page has loaded, the tools even work offline.
Free, with no watermark, no daily limit, no account and no cap on file size beyond what your device's memory can handle.
