2026 International medium and heavy-duty trucks (International brand; recall identifier “2026 International MV”) are affected; owners can recognise them by the vehicle make and recall identifier. A software problem could cause the adaptive cruise control not to slow or stop the truck when needed, increasing crash risk, and International Motors advises owners not to use the cruise control until repairs are completed; owners will be notified by mail and asked to take their truck to a dealership to update the antilock braking system electronic control unit software.
How to identify it
2026 International MV
The hazard
On one truck, a software problem could cause the adaptive cruise control (ACC) not to work properly. As a result, when the ACC is activated, the truck may not slow down or stop if the system detects the need to apply the brakes.
An adaptive cruise control system that doesn't work properly could increase the risk of a crash.
What to do
To reduce the safety risk, International Motors advises not to use the cruise control function until the recall repairs are completed. International Motors will notify the owner by mail and advise them to take their truck to a dealership to update the antilock braking system electronic control unit software.
