2023–2026 International RH and LT recall: powertrain

2023–2026 International RH and LT trucks are affected; you can identify them by the model names and model years 2023–2026. They were recalled because the quick release valves for the parking brake may not work properly, which can prevent the transmission from shifting into neutral automatically and may cause the truck to move suddenly. Owners are advised to confirm the parking brake light is on and the transmission is in neutral before exiting until repairs are completed; International Motors will notify owners by mail and direct them to take the truck to a dealership to replace the quick release valve(s).

How to identify it

The hazard

On certain trucks, the quick release valves for the parking brake may not work properly. As a result, the transmission may not shift into neutral (N) automatically. If this happens, the truck may move suddenly.

Sudden and unexpected movement of the truck could increase the risk of an injury or a crash.

What to do

To reduce the safety risk, International Motors recommends that you confirm the parking brake light is turned on and the transmission is in neutral (N) before exiting the truck until the recall repairs have been completed. International Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to replace the quick release valve(s).
