Address Labels

Paste your contact list and get sheets of mailing labels: a label per row, no blank line where an address has no apartment number, and long addresses shrunk to fit.

How to print address labels from a spreadsheet

  1. Copy your contacts from Excel or Google Sheets, with the heading row, and paste them in.
  2. Pick your label sheet. The address layout fills itself in from your column names (Name, Address, City, State, ZIP and so on); change it if you like.
  3. Mark any labels already peeled off the sheet, download the PDF and print it at 100%.

Good to know

Avery 5160 holds 30 labels of 1 × 2⅝ in, enough for four or five short lines. For longer addresses or a company line, use 5161 or 5162 (1 × 4 in and 1⅓ × 4 in), or L7160 and L7163 on A4.

Questions

Is this a mail merge?

Yes. It does what Word's mail merge does for labels, without Word: each row of your list fills one label using fields such as {Name} and {City}.

What if some addresses have a second line and some don't?

A line whose fields are all empty is left out, so an address with no apartment or suite doesn't get a blank line. Commas and spaces around an empty field are tidied up too.

What order should the address lines go in?

For the US and Canada: name, company, street, then apartment or suite, then city, state or province and ZIP or postal code on one line, with the country last for mail going abroad.

Is my list uploaded?

No. The labels and the PDF are made in your browser, so your list never leaves your computer.

Why don't my labels line up?

Print at Actual size or 100%, not Fit to page. If they're still off, print the alignment test on plain paper, hold it against a label sheet, and move the content with Nudge.
