Type a cron expression, or start from a preset and adjust each field, and read what it means in plain English along with the next ten times it will run.

Runs on your device. Nothing you paste is uploaded.

How to use the Cron Expression Generator

  1. Type an expression like 30 9 * * 1-5, or choose a preset.
  2. Adjust minute, hour, day of month, month and day of week; the description updates as you type.
  3. Check the next run times, then copy the expression into your crontab, CI config or scheduler.

Private by design

Plenty of online tools send what you paste to their server, which is a real risk with API keys, tokens and customer data. Cron Expression Generator runs entirely in your browser: nothing is uploaded, logged or stored, and it keeps working with your network switched off. It’s free, with no account and no limits.

Questions

What do the five fields mean?

In order: minute (0–59), hour (0–23), day of the month (1–31), month (1–12 or JAN–DEC) and day of the week (0–6 or SUN–SAT, where 0 and 7 are both Sunday). * means every value, 1-5 a range, */15 every 15th value and 1,15 a list.

Why does my job run on more days than I expected?

When both day of the month and day of the week are set, standard cron runs the job when either matches, not both. 0 9 1 * MON runs on the 1st and on every Monday.

Which time zone does cron use?

The server’s own time zone, unless your scheduler says otherwise (GitHub Actions and Kubernetes CronJobs default to UTC). The next run times here are shown in your time zone and in UTC.

Does it support Quartz or seconds fields?

It reads standard five-field cron plus the @hourly, @daily, @weekly, @monthly and @yearly shortcuts. Quartz-only symbols like ?, L, W and # aren’t supported.

Is anything I paste sent to a server?

No. Every tool runs in your browser, so tokens, keys, customer data and code stay on your device. Once the page has loaded, the tools work offline too.

Do I need an account?

No. Every developer tool is free to use without signing in, with no limits.
