How to use the Text to Binary
- Choose Encode (text to bytes) or Decode (bytes to text).
- Pick binary, hexadecimal or decimal, then type or paste. The result updates as you type.
- Copy the result. Decoding ignores spaces, so 01001000 01101001 and 0100100001101001 both work.
Private by design

Questions
What is “Hi” in binary?
01001000 01101001. H is character 72 and i is 105, and each is written as eight binary digits.
Why does é take two bytes?
Text is encoded as UTF-8, which uses one byte for plain English letters and two to four for everything else. é is 11000011 10101001; an emoji takes four bytes.
Can I decode binary without spaces?
Yes, as long as the number of digits is a multiple of eight. Spaces, commas and line breaks between bytes are ignored.
Is anything I paste sent to a server?
No. Every tool runs in your browser, so tokens, keys, customer data and code stay on your device. Once the page has loaded, the tools work offline too.
Do I need an account?
No. Every developer tool is free to use without signing in, with no limits.
