CSV to JSON

Paste CSV, or copy cells straight out of a spreadsheet, and get a JSON array back. The first row becomes the keys, quoted fields with commas and line breaks are read correctly, and numbers stay numbers.

Loading CSV to JSON…

Runs on your device. Nothing you paste is uploaded.

How to use the CSV to JSON

  1. Paste the CSV, or drop a .csv or .tsv file onto the box. Cells copied from Excel or Sheets work too.
  2. Check the options: whether the first row holds headers, the delimiter (detected for you) and whether to turn numbers and true/false into real values.
  3. Copy the JSON, or download it as a .json file.

Private by design

Plenty of online tools send what you paste to their server, which is a real risk with API keys, tokens and customer data. CSV to JSON runs entirely in your browser: nothing is uploaded, logged or stored, and it keeps working with your network switched off. It’s free, with no account and no limits.

Questions

Does it handle commas and line breaks inside a field?

Yes. Fields in double quotes can contain commas, line breaks and doubled quotes (""), as the CSV standard (RFC 4180) describes.

Can I paste from Excel or Google Sheets?

Yes. Copied cells arrive separated by tabs, and the delimiter is detected automatically.

Why is a ZIP code like 02134 still text?

Values with a leading zero are kept as text, because turning 02134 into the number 2134 would lose the zero. Everything else that looks like a number becomes one, unless you switch that off.

Is anything I paste sent to a server?

No. Every tool runs in your browser, so tokens, keys, customer data and code stay on your device. Once the page has loaded, the tools work offline too.

Do I need an account?

No. Every developer tool is free to use without signing in, with no limits.
