Unix Timestamp Converter

Paste a Unix timestamp to see the date and time it stands for, in your time zone, UTC and ISO 8601. Seconds, milliseconds, microseconds and nanoseconds are detected for you. Or pick a date to get its timestamp.

Runs on your device. Nothing you paste is uploaded.

How to use the Unix Timestamp Converter

  1. Paste a timestamp such as 1767225600 or 1767225600000. Its unit is detected from its length.
  2. Read it as a local date, UTC, ISO 8601, RFC 2822 and a relative time like “3 days ago”.
  3. To go the other way, pick a date, a time and a time zone, and copy the timestamp.

Private by design

Plenty of online tools send what you paste to their server, which is a real risk with API keys, tokens and customer data. Unix Timestamp Converter runs entirely in your browser: nothing is uploaded, logged or stored, and it keeps working with your network switched off. It’s free, with no account and no limits.

Questions

What is a Unix timestamp?

The number of seconds since 1 January 1970 at 00:00 UTC, not counting leap seconds. It’s the same everywhere in the world at the same moment, which is why systems store time that way.

Seconds or milliseconds?

Unix tools, PHP and Python usually use seconds (10 digits today); JavaScript and Java use milliseconds (13 digits). The converter reads the length and says which it assumed.

What happens in 2038?

Programs that keep the timestamp in a signed 32-bit number overflow on 19 January 2038 at 03:14:07 UTC (2147483647). 64-bit timestamps, used by modern systems, last for billions of years.

Is anything I paste sent to a server?

No. Every tool runs in your browser, so tokens, keys, customer data and code stay on your device. Once the page has loaded, the tools work offline too.

Do I need an account?

No. Every developer tool is free to use without signing in, with no limits.
