Markdown to Slides

Write your talk as plain text, with a line of --- between slides, and present it straight from the browser. Code, tables, maths and diagrams work, and speaker notes stay in the presenter view.

How to use the Markdown to Slides

  1. Write or paste your slides. Put --- on a line of its own between slides, and speaker notes in <!-- comments -->.
  2. Pick a theme and a shape (16:9 or 4:3). The preview follows the slide your cursor is in.
  3. Select Present for full screen, or Presenter view for your notes and a timer in a second window. Save a PDF or a web page to share it.

Private by design

Many online converters send your text to their server, which matters for drafts, notes and anything confidential. Markdown to Slides runs entirely in your browser: nothing is uploaded, logged or stored on a server, and it keeps working with your network switched off. It’s free, with no account and no limits.

Questions

Does it work with Marp files?

Mostly, yes. Slides are separated by --- as in Marp, HTML comments become speaker notes, and the front matter’s theme, size (16:9 or 4:3) and paginate settings are read. Marp’s own themes and directives aren’t supported, so the look can differ.

How do I show speaker notes?

Write them in an HTML comment on the slide, like <!-- Mention the deadline -->. Presenter view shows the current slide, the next one, your notes and a timer in a window of its own, while the audience sees the slides on the other screen.

Can I present without this website?

Yes. Download .html saves the whole deck as one file that runs in any browser, offline: arrow keys move between slides and F goes full screen. Or save a PDF, one slide per page.

Is my text uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything runs in your browser, so drafts, notes and documents stay on your device, and the tools keep working offline once the page has loaded.

Do I need an account?

No. Every Markdown tool is free to use without signing in, with no limits.
