Markdown to Word

Turn Markdown into a Word document you can edit, comment on and send. Headings use Word’s own heading styles, lists stay lists, and tables, code blocks, footnotes and images come across.

Runs on your device. Nothing you type or paste is uploaded.

How to use the Markdown to Word

  1. Paste your Markdown or open a .md file.
  2. Choose the page size, margins, font and text size, and whether pages are numbered.
  3. Select Download .docx and open the file in Word, Google Docs, Pages or LibreOffice.

Private by design

Many online converters send your text to their server, which matters for drafts, notes and anything confidential. Markdown to Word runs entirely in your browser: nothing is uploaded, logged or stored on a server, and it keeps working with your network switched off. It’s free, with no account and no limits.

Questions

Will the headings show in Word’s Navigation pane?

Yes. Headings use Word’s built-in Heading 1 to Heading 6 styles, so they appear in the Navigation pane and in any table of contents you add in Word, and links to sections still work.

Why are some images missing?

Images are fetched from wherever they’re hosted, and some sites don’t let other pages download their pictures. Those are left out and listed in a message; save them and insert them in Word.

Can I open the file in Google Docs?

Yes. Upload the .docx to Google Drive and open it with Google Docs, or open it in Pages or LibreOffice.

Is my text uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything runs in your browser, so drafts, notes and documents stay on your device, and the tools keep working offline once the page has loaded.

Do I need an account?

No. Every Markdown tool is free to use without signing in, with no limits.
